Could You Be A Voluntary Board Member For Mid & East Antrim Agewell Partnership (MEAAP)?

Our vision is to empower older people to ‘agewell’ in Mid and East Antrim using an inter-agency partnership approach and working alongside our communities.

As we grow and enter an exciting period of development as a charity, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Voluntary Board of Directors to set the direction for our future, overseeing the leadership and governance of the organisation, dedicated to older people.

Those who have an interest in becoming a volunteer Board member need to either live or work in the Mid & East Antrim Borough Council area.

We are looking for individuals with a background in the private, public, voluntary or community sectors who can contribute to the strategic leadership and governance of MEAAP. Taking account of the range of skills and experience of current MEAAP Board Members, we would like to strengthen the collective portfolio of skills within the Board, particularly in the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Strategic Planning
  • Business Management
  • Social Enterprise
  • Marketing and PR
  • Human Resources
  • Community Development
  • Fundraising
  • Rights of older people

This is not an exhaustive list, if there are other skills and qualities you feel are relevant and would bring value to the MEAAP Board, please click here to download and complete our Expression of Interest form and send to [email protected] by Friday 26th February 2021 or send postal submissions to Kenneth Wilson Chair Mid & East Antrim Agewell Partnership 18 Queen Street, Ballymena. BT42 2BD

MEAAP is committed to diversity and equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. This is a non–remunerative role, however, out of pocket expenses, such as mileage, will be paid.

Time commitment

The Board’s purpose is to oversee governance and drive the strategic direction of MEAAP. The commitment required from our Board Members, over a four-year term of office, would involve:

Attendance at least 7 out of 10 Board meetings per year, currently meeting virtually.

In additional to Board meetings, members will be expected to be available for other occasional meetings, such as strategic planning, employee recruitment interviews, key networking events etc.
