Board of Trustees Members

Parenting NI is the leading charity for supporting parents in Northern Ireland.  We deliver a range of high quality services for parents’ including:

• Parenting programmes
• Help and information via a freephone Support Line, web chat, online resources, Parenting NI app, podcasts and Parenting Week
• Consulting with parents on various issues in order to influence government policy, planning and service delivery
• Carrying out research with parents and using the findings to advocate for parents
• Family Support Services – including home visiting in Belfast and Southern Trust and National Lottery Community Fund projects Families Together and Dads Project
• Employee Wellbeing Service
• Training for Practitioners – including OCN Level 4 Working with Parents

Parenting NI is currently recruiting new Board members.  Trustees need to be committed to the ethos of Parenting NI.  The Board meetings take place approximately 4 times a year (including an Annual General Meeting). 

The role of a Board member includes contributing to Board discussions and decisions, and to bring independent judgement on issues of strategy, performance, key opportunities and accountability.

At present, we would particularly welcome interest from those with the following experience to join the Board:-

• legal background; or
• experience within the voluntary sector, working in an organisation which supports children, parents and/or families to join the Board.

If you have an interest in our work, we would like to hear from you. Induction, training and support will be provided.  Although the Trustee role is unpaid, we will reimburse reasonable expenses.
