Board Of Trustees Members

The Welcome Organisation provides a range of potentially life-saving services to around 1,200 people affected by homelessness across greater Belfast every year. 

The Welcome Organisation adopts a non-judgemental approach to addressing homelessness issues. All of our services are based on the principles of harm reduction delivered through low-threshold services.  We are recognised for accepting people ‘where they are at’ as opposed to where others think they should be.

The Organisations Headquarters is based at Townsend Street, Belfast.

The Organisation receives funding from Northern Ireland Housing Executive programmes but is highly dependent on public and corporate support.

There are currently 6 Trustees on the Board, a number are nearing the completion of their terms of office. The Organisation is therefore seeking new trustees and also taking the opportunity to increase the number of Trustees to 7 / 8. 

The skill required skill sets identified are expertise/experience in:

• Housing / Homelessness
• Income Generation / Business Development
• HR
• Marketing / Public Relations
• Knowledge of achieving sustainability in the sector

Experience in the following areas would be beneficial but not necessary:-

• serving on  a Board or attending senior management meetings or
• community development / relations

Trustees meet approximately every 8 weeks with the meeting having a maximum duration of 1.5 hours.
