TIDES are seeking forward thinking Board Members who can help shape our development and contribute to our strategy for future success. We would welcome diversity, mix of backgrounds, approaches and perspectives in our candidates.

TIDES are a registered charity since 2000.  We are one of Northern Ireland’s experts in Good Relations, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, Conflict Coaching and Building Partnerships through Collaboration.  We have a reputation built on the proven ability to develop Good Relations training programmes and mediative processes that are creative and relevant. Working primarily across the Community, Public and Private sectors of Northern Ireland.  We provide a mediation service for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and specialist support and advice for a range of partnerships through Peace IV EU regional funded projects on a Northern Ireland and border counties basis.

Board Members

The Board of Trustees takes on the ultimate legal and financial responsibility for all the activities of the organisation.  They maintain an overview of policy and strategic direction rather than being involved in day-to-day operations.  In addressing the key tasks, the Board must ensure that the company and its employees comply with relevant laws and regulations. 

We are looking for new trustees with particular skills in:


Financial Expertise – will have experience of charity fundraising/ financial management. As part of the Board, will work with the Chair/Director to identify a diversity of funds and oversee the charity’s financial goals as well as other strategic aims.

Business Development and Income Generation - will provide leadership and experience to the board on growing the organisation’s income and the development of profitable products and services that also fulfill our purpose and values. Bringing strategic and analytical skills they will support our team in reviewing and developing our customer management processes to better forecast our income.

We are also looking for Trustees with backgrounds in the following:

  • Marketing & Fundraising
  • HR Management
  • Social Economy Development
  • Public Policy / Affairs / Relations
  • Legal
  • Voluntary Fundraising
  • Information Technology

 

The successful candidate will have extensive experience gained working at senior levels in relevant organisations.  Experience in the public, private, community or voluntary sectors and knowledge of good governance is desirable.
