Become a Care Home Visitor Volunteer to our wonderful members in County Antrim

Deafblind UK

Visit your local care home and brighten up our members day

Here at Deafblind UK our goal is to assist people with combined sight and hearing loss to live the lives they want. Our members are some of the most isolated and lonely people in society and we want to do all we can to change this. Our team of amazing volunteers make our goal possible!

Many of our members live in residential care homes where their care needs are being met by wonderful busy staff. However, due to the strain on residential and supported accommodation the staff on occasions simply do not have the time to hold stimulating conversations or offer emotional support. This leaves our members in a very isolated and vulnerable position, especially when they receive few or no visitors.

How can you help?

We are looking for chatty, friendly, approachable and confident individuals to offer an hour or more a week to go and have a chat to our members who live in a local care home.

You could be chatting about similar interests or learning about each others lives. Whatever the conversation you’ll be making a positive difference to our member’s life.

Something as simple as a chat for an hour could brighten up our members’ week!
