The Bank Project Officers will provide a range of interventions that will enable individuals with autism to engage in services and become more independent.

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member:

The Cedar Foundation deliver a range of services centred around the individual needs of each person and enabling people with disabilities to get the most out of life and to be fully included in their communities.

 

The Bank Project Officers will provide a range of interventions that will enable individuals with autism to engage in services and become more independent.

 

Purpose of the Job: 

 

  • Deliver tailored learning activities such as personal development programmes that will enhance an individual’s understanding of ASD.
  • Facilitate visits to community groups, recreational providers or other mainstream inclusive provision, ensuring that the individuals support needs are considered.
  • Complete relevant risk assessments that will highlight the needs of the service users accessing the programme and ensure their needs are met.
  • Use the expert knowledge of individuals and their families when assessing and developing strategies that ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.

 

Hours:                                  As and when required

 

Contract:                             Bank

 

Locations:                           Various locations throughout Northern Ireland

                       

 

Salary:                                 £12.00 per hour

 

Essential Criteria:

                               

  • RQF Level 6 (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree) or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, i.e. Psychology, Education, Community Work or Health & Social Care

AND

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in assessing the needs of individuals with ASD and developing strategies to enhance their social interaction and independent skills

       OR

  • Minimum RQF 4 or equivalent in Psychology, Education, Community Work, Health & Social Care or a relevant discipline

        AND

 

  • 3 years’ experience as above
  • Proficiency in IT skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to work independently with good organisational, communication & interpersonal skills
  • Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment.

 

This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable applicant who has a disability which prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in order to meet the requirements of the post in full.
