Positive Futures is Northern Ireland’s leading learning disability, acquired brain injury and autistic spectrum condition charity.

Positive Futures is Northern Ireland’s leading learning disability, acquired brain injury and autistic spectrum condition charity.  We currently employ over 600 people throughout the island of Ireland.  Autism Outreach Workers support young people, aged 4 to 18, who are on the autistic spectrum condition, to take part in activities which meet their needs and aspirations.  They will plan, coordinate and provide support to the young people they are supporting. 

Autism Outreach Workers x 4
Post 1 – 1 position at 14 hours/week – supporting young people in the Fermanagh area
Post 2 – 2 positions at 18 hours/week – supporting young people in Strabane, Derry city, Limavady and Dungiven areas 
Post 3 – 1 position at 18 hours/week – supporting young people in Omagh, covering Omagh, Strabane and Fintona areas

Temporary posts for six months with the possibility of extension

Eligibility criteria apply to all benefits

You will need:

  • At least six months experience of supporting children / young people with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • At least six months experience of planning, organising and implementing activities for children and young people
  • The ability to travel independently. Positive Futures defines this as being a car driver and holder of a clean driving licence*, or having access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to meet the demands of the post.

*this criteria is waived for those unable to meet it due to disability
