We have vacancies within our Autism Outreach Services in Omagh and Derry/Londonderry:

Autism Outreach Workers

The positions are for a fixed term until 28 February 2019 (subject to funding). We are looking for one person to fill a 15 hour contract in County Tyrone, where they will based in Omagh and travel to support people within the surrounding areas as far as Trillick and Strabane. We are looking for a second person to fill a 28 hour contract in County Londonderry, where they will be based in Derry/Londonderry and travel to support people within the surrounding areas as far as Strabane, Derry City, Limavady and Dungiven.

The successful applicants will support children with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition to take part in activities which meet their individual needs and aspirations. Activities will range from cinema outings, cooking, going to the swimming pool, sports, arts and crafts.

You will need
• 6 months’ experience of supporting children / young people in recreational activities in a paid or voluntary capacity
• Experience of implementation of Care Plans / Person Centred Support Plans
• The ability to travel independently. Positive Futures defines this as being a car driver and holder of a clean driving licence*, or having access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to meet the demands of the post.

*This criteria is waived for candidates unable to meet it due to disability.
