Assistant Manager (14 hours)
The main purpose of this role is to assist the Shop Manager to create a welcoming atmosphere into our shop and ensure that each customer has a positive shopping experience.
- Reporting to the Shop Manager, the main responsibilities of this role are:
- Greeting customers and assist shoppers to find the goods and products they are looking for
- To accept, sort, price, store and display merchandise/donations
- Be responsible for processing payments and ensuring Gift Aid donations are recorded accurately
- Promote Gift Aid to customers and sign up donors to enhance shop income
- Responsible for opening and closing of premises during trading hours
- Keeping the store tidy and clean
- Working flexible hours on a rota basis (which will include Saturday and one other day during the week)
- Attending appropriate training, as required
- Ensure a high standard of presentation, display and pricing
- Any other duties that may be required by the Shop Manager
Applicants must have:
- Experience of cash handling
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Flexibility, integrity and an understanding of confidentiality
It is desirable that the post-holder has experience within the retail sector.
What we can offer you:
Salary Scale £8.79 per hour
Hours: 14 hours – 9:00am – 5:00pm (2 days – on a rota basis between Monday and Friday and on a Saturday)
Permanent contract
Annual Leave: 25 days plus 9 Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time)

Auto Enrolment Pension – 5% employer contribution and 3% employee contribution (on qualifying earnings)
