  • Location: Belfast

    Hours: Part-time (working 21 hours a week) on a fixed term contract for 3 years

    Salary: £17,479 per annum, pro rata

     

    How do we work?

    Action for Children does what is right, does what is needed and does what works for children in the UK. Every year, our team changes the lives of 301,000 children, young people and families.

     

    Our Young Adult Carers Support service is a new initiative across Northern Ireland. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Empowering Young People and delivered by Action for Children, we aim to raise awareness of Young Adult Carers with Health and Social Care Trusts, Community groups and other statutory services to help identify young adult carers and offer them support.

     

    This role will be working 3 days a week, although there can be some flexibility regarding which days you work on.

     

    How will you make a difference?

    By supporting the Service Coordinator in all aspects of running the service

    By answering the telephone and meeting and greeting visitors to the service office

    By dealing with all correspondence regarding the service

    By carrying out all general administrative and office duties for the service including scanning and updating digital records

    By taking the minutes at team meetings

    By updating databases and recording systems

    By purchasing goods and services for the service while monitoring and updating a finance system

    By being an integral member of the team

     

     

    • What will you need?
    • S/NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or the equivalent or equivalent work experience.
    • GCSE A-C in English, Maths and IT
    • Strong working knowledge Office 365 and Excel
    • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, organisation and time management skills
    • The ability to work as part of a team but also to use your own initiative
    • The ability to work towards deadlines and multi-task
    • The ability to respect confidentiality in the workplace and to provide a professional service to meet the demands of the role.
