Volunteering

Administration Volunteer (Foyle)

MS Society NI

Administration
Using their interpersonal and organisational skills, our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for all local group activity.

Using their interpersonal and organisational skills, our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for all local group activity. They act as the first point of contact for the group and play an important role in keeping the group’s data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital. Join us.

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the Foyle Group. As an Administration Volunteer you will be organising the admin of a group and ensuring group volunteers are aware of current agreements and activities.

This role would include supporting the local group volunteers to communicate with local members and other people affected by MS in the Derry/Londonderry area. This is an opportunity to join a new co-ordinating team and to help design and develop services to support local people affected by MS. The role would include sending letters, accessing membership data bases, responding to emails, devising newsletters and sending marketing and thank you letters.

We estimate this role would require around 2 - 4 hours a week but we are flexible around your availability. This would be an ongoing role and would require the person to work as part of a team supporting local people affected by MS. This role may also require the person to be available to attend training and forums - a maximum of 4 times per year. In addition to this the person may be required to attend local monthly team meetings.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be a keen organiser of admin and record keeping and willing to share information with others.

You must live in or near the Foyle area to carry out this role.
