6048 - Children's Worker (Assistant Project Worker) - Choices for Children Home Links

Short break care (sometimes called respite care) gives young people an opportunity to have fun, share experiences and socialise outside of their home life while giving their parents or carers a brief break from caring. Our short break support includes after-school and weekend activities in the community and overnight stays for children in approved carers' homes. Home Links works in partnership with Belfast Health & Social Care Trust and provides services to families living in the greater Belfast area.

This is a 3.25hr post. You are required to accompany a child who has a learning disability one afternoon a week after school. It is vital that the child is involved in activities that they enjoy either in the community or at your home: these can be e.g. going to the park or the cinema, shopping, baking or cooking, table top games etc. The rate is £9 per hour for 3.25hrs per week initially. There will be the opportunity to work with other children on an individual or co-worker basis.
