Scotch Street Youth & Community Centre (SSYCC) and Oasis Youth (Portadown) are currently recruiting 2 x Youth & Children's Support Workers as part of their new STEP OUT PROJECT.

This project is funded through the BBC Children in Need Next Steps Programme. Appointment to these posts will be for a fixed term period commencing on 1st November 2020 and will end on 30th April 2022.

The programme which will compliment the ongoing provision of each organisation will:

  1. Work with project partner organisations and other statutory and voluntary agencies to identify programme participants.
  2. Establish and deliver bespoke, small group programmes delivered over 12 week periods, supporting a total of 60 children and young people across the life span of the project.
  3. Provide one to one work and develop support plans as required to ensure safe access to programmes.
  4. Support the integration of children and young people into the wider club activities.
  5. Recruit, train and develop a peer mentoring team, who will support the programme delivery and sustainability.

Job Description:

  1. To contribute to the development of the Step Out project through the design, implementation and delivery of the work plan. 
  2. To work with Partner Organisations and to ensure that the programme aims, objectives and outcomes are successfully met.
  3. To work closely with the Line Manager and staff teams to effectively identify participants and safely deliver the programme to meet the desired outcomes.

Remuneration:                     £12,463.47 - £12,712.53 per annum.

Leave Entitlement:               4 weeks x 20hrs per week per annum + 10 Statutory Holidays.

Hours of Work:                    Will be 20hrs per week, by arrangement with the post holder, although because of the nature of the work staff must be prepared to work regular unsociable hours.  Hours worked in excess of the normal paid hours entitle the post holder to time off in lieu by arrangement.

Location:        POST 1 - The post holder will be based at Scotch Street Youth & Community Centre (SSYCC), 106c Moy Road, Portadown, Co. Armagh, BT62 1QP.

                        POST 2 - The post holder will be based at Oasis Youth Centre, 34 Bridge Street, Portadown, Co. Armagh, BT62 1JD.

 

Both posts holders may be required to deliver programmes across the wider Craigavon Area.
