Hear about the Joys, McCrackens, McCabe & Cunningham who were on opposing sides of the 1798 Rebellion & how the Charitable Society emerged from it.

This three hour workshop supports individuals aged 50+ to consider their future in terms of finance, health & wellbeing, career and work-life balance. This workshop is facilitated by Rosie Smyth, Life and Work Coordinator at Age NI. Learning aims: This overview will allow participants to take stock of where you are now and where you want to be in later life. Improve confidence and motivation; gain focus and direction for future planning. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the session participants will identify: 1.Finance – your state pension, understanding types of private pensions, tax rates, interest rates. 2.Career Development – understanding career planning 3.Health & Wellbeing – understanding a sedentary lifestyle and the impact on health. 4.Work Life Balance – flexible working and rights. Your rights as a carer. Mid Career Reviews are part of the Age at Work project, which supports individuals aged 50+ to remain in or return to work, in order to help them to have enough income, stay connected and enjoy a fuller working life . This workshop is open to individuals who are in employment or unemployed. The workshop will be delivered at Age NI, 3 Lower Crescent, Belfast, BT7 1NR Age NI are in partnership with Business in the Community to deliver the Age at Work project which is funded by the National Lottery. The photographs taken on day 2 will be reviewed, with the tutor providing valuable, constructive feedback. Followed by further teaching on the subject.

This short session is designed for people who are interested in finding out about Makaton and deciding whether or not to attend Makaton training. The Taster gives you a general introduction into what Makaton is and who uses it, with the opportunity to learn a few signs and symbols too. Participants receive handouts covering the vocabulary they have learned and general information regarding further Makaton training and Makaton resources.
