Talk, Learn, Do NI: Parents, Kids and money - FREE Train the trainer
Talk, Learn, do Train the Trainer will give you the training, confidence and materials you will need to deliver this parenting intervention. After attending you will ready to:
Increasing your knowledge on how to talk to your children about money Teaching your children about money in every day situations for example, going shopping or around the home.
- How to report on your children's ability to handle and manage money
- How to manage your own day-to-day money as a parent
- Teaching your children how to recognise the difference between ‘want’ and ‘need’
- Teaching your children why you have to say ‘no’ to buying something.
Children learn about money from a very young age. A lot of what they need to learn as adults to manage money and help them avoid financial issues later on in their lives is already in place by the age of 7.
You may think that children shouldn't think about money until they are older. But it's ok to start when they are very young - the key is to keep it relevant to their age group.
