Parenting Apart Programme Strabane
Parenting NI
The Families Together project is funded by the Big Lottery and is a partnership project set up by Parenting NI and New Life Counselling. We offer a free counselling service for parents, therapeutic work with children and various workshops and programmes on parenting – all based on research and experiences of parents.
The Parenting Apart programme is aimed at parents who have separated, are separating, divorced or thinking of divorce.
The programme will provide practical advice and guidance about what children need to know, and what parents can do to meet their children’s needs. Although parents can feel immersed in their own difficulties, this programme can help parents focus on the child’s needs with the aim of minimising the impact of the separation.
The programme explores:
- Emotional impact
- Parenting roles
- Changes in relationships
- Legalities
- Financial impact
- Moving on
Parents who previously attended this programme said they would highly recommend other parents to attend.
As there are 2 Bank Holidays in May the programme will run over the 6 weeks between 10am and 12 noon on the following dates:
