Are you an older volunteer living in the Belfast City Council area? If you are, then register to be part this celebration. Organised as part of Age-friendly Belfast, the ‘Two Hands’ online event is taking place on Tuesday 7 December from 2:30 pm to 4 pm.
You'll hear from the city's Lord Mayor, Cllr Kate Nicholl, and Denise Hayward, CEO with Volunteer Now.
There’ll also be music and a fun quiz.
Volunteers make the world a better place for all of us. They share their time, skills, and experience to make a positive difference in the places people live, learn, work, and relax. Volunteers also touch the lives of others and during the pandemic volunteers have been a vital link in Belfast continuing to be a compassionate and caring city.
In recognition of this Belfast City Council is celebrating older volunteers with an afternoon of music and fun. It will be an opportunity to highlight the positive contribution they make through caring for and keeping the city and its citizens safe during the Covid 19 pandemic.
Whether you’ve
- supported the city’s vibrant community and voluntary sector
- worked in partnership with a statutory organisation,
- donated time and skills to help neighbours and those in your local community, or
- had to take a step back from your previous volunteer role because of the pandemic
If you’re 60 or over and living within the Belfast City Council electoral area you can register for this afternoon of celebration.
There’ll be music, a fun quiz too.
It will be a chance to recognise and reflect on the difference the city’s mature volunteers have made over the last 20 months.
