This full-day workshop focuses specifically on workplace investigations through a variety of processes. It is ideal for Managers who desire to gain insight into the process coupled with HR professionals looking for coaching to ensure they maximise their opportunity at this stage of the disciplinary process. Following extensive feedback from clients, we have developed a comprehensive investigation workshop to ensure a thorough investigation can be carried out with confidence, to deliver a fair and consistent result.
The content of the session will include:
- The importance of understanding the LRA Code of Practice coupled with your own disciplinary policy
- Consideration of key sources of information e.g. indisputable documentary evidence, CCTV, witness statements, hearsay and understanding the legal implications around data protection and privacy laws
- Effective note taking, including correcting mistakes or omissions in notes and the importance of obtaining signatures
- Key guidance as to how to conduct the meeting including various styles of questioning
- How to deal with Difficult Scenarios you may encounter throughout the investigation process
- Developing skills around allegation formation to ensure a smooth transition to disciplinary
- Developing key findings, based on the balance of evidence and probabilities, as well as considering any precedents or inconsistencies which exist in the workplace
