Adviser Network Webinar
Advisers assemble. Law Centre NI will be hosting a special 'Adviser Network Webinar' to update advisers on key changes to law and practice in relation to social security entitlement and employment rights.

This is an opportunity to bring advisers together from across Northern Ireland to help people keep up-to-date with changes during this challenging time of increased demand for advice services, changes to service delivery and a shifting legal landscape.

It is also an opportunity for advisers to feed back their experiences from the frontline.

When: Friday 27th March, 11am - 12pm
Where: This is a webinar held on the Zoom platform*
RSVP: [email protected]

*It is essential that you RSVP, along with your email address, to ensure our training team can invite you to join the webinar and ensure you have all the necessary information in advance of the meeting.

At the meeting on Friday 27th March two legal officers from our employment and social security hubs will explore the following topics:

1. Changes to social security law and practice in response to COVID-19

A number of important changes have been brought in to help protect existing claimants and to support new claimants. Our social security legal officer, Owen McCloskey, will take you through his updates from the Department for Communities, look at the implications of these changes and touch on some key questions that remain.

2. Employment rights and COVID-19

Our employment rights advice line has been inundated with queries from people being made redundant in response to COVID-19. Our employment solicitor, Clare Coulter, will look at key trends coming through the advice line, rights around redundancy and recent changes in the law.

3. Discussion

This is your opportunity to direct questions to our legal advisers and share your experience from the frontline during this challenging time.
