The Youth Hostel Association of Northern Ireland was formed in 1931 to provide accomodation for those travelling through the Ulster countryside. The Association is affiliated to the International Youth Hostel Federation which encompasses around 60 countries and has more that 5,800 hostels world-wide. Members of the Association are entitled to make use of hostels anywhere in the world.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no age limit on hostelling and people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds can meet in our hostels. We actively encourage family groups to stay with us by providing special family accomodation at many sites.
The Association currently has 6 hostels across the province at Belfast, Whitepark Bay, Bushmills, Enniskillen, Newcastle and Armagh.
