Board Member Opportunities with Dance Resource Base (NI) Ltd

Dance Resource Base exists to link, serve, strengthen and support the dance community in Northern
Ireland. We are the umbrella organisation for dance in Northern Ireland and have a comprehensive dance membership base. We provide key facilities, resources and services for the dance sector and members of the public interested in dance, as well as playing an advocacy role in raising the profile
of the art form. Dance Resource Base was incorporated and registered as an independent company in December 2006.

Dance Resource Base is currently recruiting Board members with particular skills in governance, marketing or fundraising.

The board of directors of Dance Resource Base is a non-executive board. The current board members encompass a wide variety of key skills including legal, finance, equality, dance management and
professional dance practice. We are now looking to complement existing skills and experience with those
outlined above.

Dance Resource Base receives annual support from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to sustain and develop its role as a resource and service organisation and regional driver for dance in Northern Ireland. Additional support is generated by membership fees and through studio rental. Our premises are in the heart of Belfast and include an office suite, resource library / meeting room and dance studio. We provide a range of services and resources for our members and the general public, including: subsidised
rehearsal space, affordable professional training, support and development programmes, hot-desking facility, networking opportunities, promotional support and monthly e-newsletters.

A three-year Strategic Business Plan has recently been devised for Dance Resource Base and the company is embarking on an exciting and challenging developmental phase. This offers an interesting and stimulating experience for new Board members wishing to contribute to company development.
