Terra Nova Productions

We are Northern Ireland’s only professional multicultural production company.  We have worked on artistic and social projects across Northern Ireland and in Hong Kong, Macau, Iran, France, England, the Republic of Ireland and Canada.  Our mission is to work with people of different cultures from a base in Northern Ireland. Since 2009 we have worked with professional artists from Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Germany, Canada, the USA, Iran, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.  We have worked with Northern Ireland’s multicultural communities from Bangladesh, Poland, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and the Indian Subcontinent; with each other, with local indigenous communities, and on discrete projects.

Terra Nova Productions was set up by Delhi-born Canadian, Andrea Montgomery.  Bi-racial Chinese-American playwright and educator, Shannon Sickels, is our community co-ordinator. Terra Nova is a registered company and a charity, governed by a volunteer Board, all of whom were either born outside Northern Ireland, or have travelled extensively for life and work.

The exchange of different cultural ideas and personal experiences is the lifeblood of Terra Nova and the range of artists and theatre professionals who are delivering the company’s mission. While we may not always be doing biographical shows based on people’s stories, being connected to communities we work with keeps our work honest, fresh and relevant.
