The Special Educational Needs Advice Centre(SENAC) is a charity (XR73658) providing free, independent advice, information and advocacy to parents/carers of children and young people with special needs and learning difficulties. SENAC offers specialist advice on the special needs education system in Northern Ireland. The service includes a confidential advice-line and an individual advocacy service.  As an advocacy service we work to get appropriate educational provision for the  children and we support parents through the complexities and legalities of the SEN statutory framework. We can help with understanding the system, IEPs, annual reviews, transition to secondary school and where suitable attend meetings and assist in developing a plan that will address the child's specific educational needs.

Special Educational Needs Advice Centre

Understanding and navigating the SEN system to ensure your child's additional needs are identified and provided for can be challenging, and increasingly parents are required to communicate via email, online forms, scan and password protect documents etc to get support for their child in school. If you lack confidence for these tasks, using the internet etc this programme to improve your online skills may be of interest to you. Advice Ni have partnered with the Special Educational Needs Advice Centre (SENAC) to deliver a tailored digital skills programme for parents of children with special needs.
