All Patagonia grants are made for environmental work only. They are most interested in making grants to organizations that identify and work on the root causes of problems and that approach issues with a commitment to long-term change. They look for programs with a clear agenda for change and a strategic plan for achieving the organization's goals. Because they believe that true change will occur through the commitment of a broad base of the public, their funding focuses on organizations that are building a strong base of citizen support.
