Get Off Your Arts Offers a radical alternative for young people reluctant to engage with mainstream education and youth service provision.
EBEN BARNARD: ARTIST, FACILITATOR, YOUTHWORKER.
Eben specialises in youth arts and creative projects on tight budgets. His experience stems from long-term professional work with Special Projects for Youth, Residential Social Care, Garda Youth Diversion Projects, Community Arts organisations and freelance work with marginalised communities since 1999. Eben is a registered ETB tutor and currently a youth worker with Foróige SKY Youth Development Project.
Eben developed the GET OFF YOUR ARTS project in 2005. He uses a combination of structured workshops and an informal environment to engage in creative mentoring with small groups and individual young people.
The programme has been particularly successful in engaging young people marginalised from, or uninterested in, mainstream service provision and sports activities and as education support with young people out of school.
