Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company was set up by Ursula Laeubli and Steve Batts in Amsterdam in 1991. After six years of project work all over Europe the company relocated to Derry, Northern Ireland in 1997. Since then the company has established itself as Northern Ireland's leading dance company and a key influence in the development of dance and dance theatre in Ireland. Echo Echo has a strong commitment to developing dance as an accessible artform maintaining a busy dance education and outreach programme for people of all ages and abilities, and working closely with Northern Ireland's only Dance Degree programme at University of Ulster, and working in partnership with a wide range organisations in the community, education and arts sectors throughout the island. The company also produces original new performance work and tours throughout Ireland and Europe most notably with its acclaimed 2005 production Resonance, 2007 production Consequences and most recently Ripple Affect.
