The Belfast Barge is a maritime museum and performance space. We are owned by the charity Lagan Legacy. We hope to expound the history of the River Lagan to the public through our maritime exhibition and host a shared commmunity space for events.
The Belfast Barge is a maritime museum and theatre space. The museum is open daily from 10am-4pm. The museum tells the history of the Belfast Harbour area and the vast number of industries which grew up around the river. As part of the museum we run adult outreach and school programmes. Additionally the Belfast Barge is home to a unique theatre space, the only floating venue in Belfast. We hold a number of events and the venue is available for hire.
The barge is owned by the chairy Lagan Legacy. We are very dependent on volunteer support to help run the museum on a daily basis and to asssit with events. Our goal is to give as much experience and training as possible to our volunteers so that they can develop both personally and in their own careers.
