WRDA are delighted to announce that they have received funding from the Community Relations Council (CRC) to run a number of Good Relations workshops across Northern Ireland. This is a really exciting time for WRDA as this programme will create the opportunity to engage women in vital Good Relations work. We know they have been the backbone of the community throughout the conflict, but many have never had the opportunity to talk about and share their experiences of the impact of sectarianism and racism.

A key element of the programme will be to support women in exploring and understanding the issues, not only from their own political perspective, but to explore the issues from other perspectives. This programme will enable women to engage meaningfully in peace-building within and beyond their communities, by facilitating the knowledge and understanding of what sectarianism and racism actually are, their historical roots and modern day manifestations. The programme will also provide opportunities to explore how we challenge and combat these deeply ingrained societal problems to build towards a peaceful and stable future. This is a regional programme and we welcome requests from women’s organisations based in disadvantaged and rural communities.
