KEY 16 Over 50's Programme

Fantastic FREE opportunity for some people over 50. Throughout the next 6 months we (BCSDN) are running a programme specifically with people aged 50+. The project is called KEY16 (Keep Empowering Yourself) and aims to up skill these volunteers.

The project is called KEY16 (Keep Empowering Yourself) and aims to develop the capacity for community groups to run their own programmes. We will work with only 16 people from across Greater Belfast and upskill them to be able to deliver coaching and physical activity sessions. Over the programme BCSDN will provide opportunities for each volunteer to achieve coaching & leadership qualifications, attend coach development workshops and complete 10 hours of peer mentoring. Also the KEY 16 Volunteers will receive a uniform, coaching equipment & will take part in a 2 day residential break.

The hope for the programme is that the KEY16 volunteers can support their community groups with their coaching & activity needs instead of always having to buy in a coaching service. Also as the volunteers will be highly skilled by the end of the programme they will be offered casual coaching hours through BCSDN which can pay up to £17.50 per hour.

If you have any one in mind for the project please get in touch with us by Septmeber 29th. The programme will start at 10am on 2nd October finishing at 12noon, it will be hosted at Belfast Activity Centre. The programme will run every Monday morning up until 11th December and continue again after Christmas. We are looking for enthusiastic people who are committed and want to give back to their community.
