Family Mediation NI (FMNI) is a Northern Ireland wide, voluntary organisation, which aims to provide an independent, non-judgemental third party mediation service to separating/divorcing couples. The team of independent accredited and experienced family mediators work across Northern Ireland to assist couples with their issues and help them to negotiate future arrangements for the family. We aim to ensure that the needs of the child and/or young person are placed at the centre of the parents’ decision-making and agreement and that we positively minimise the emotional, physical and mental impact of the separation on the family.
FMNI is currently looking for new Trustees with varied life experiences and perspectives to take a place on the Board. Trustees need to be committed to the ethos of FMNI. The Board meeting take place in Belfast.
The key role of a Trustee is to contribute to the governance and the strategic planning of the organisation.
On the Board, we value a diverse range of skills, experience and backgrounds and would welcome expressions of interest from anyone with particular strengths in:
- Funding Applications / Tendering Process
- Human Resources
- Family Law Practitioner
- Knowledge and experience of mediation
(those currently employed by FMNI may not apply)
Whilst not essential, knowledge of the voluntary sector would be useful.
If you have an interest in our work and possess the skills and experience we’re looking for we would like to hear from you. Time commitment is approximately 2 hours per month. Induction, training and support will be provided. Although the Trustee role is unpaid, we will reimburse reasonable expenses.
Please contact FMNI on 028 9024 3265 or email administration@familymediationni.org.uk to request an Expression of Interest form. This form should be returned by Friday 28 September 2012 to the Chair, FMNI, 7 University Street, Belfast, BT7 1FY.
