HSE Community Games
Do you work with or would you like to engage young people aged 6-16?
Do you already or Would you like to provide them with New Sporting and Cultural Opportunities?
If the answer is yes, Community Games may be for you…
The HSE Community Games is an independent voluntary organisation, operating from 1967 in local communities throughout Ireland. The organisation aims to provide opportunities for children and young people aged 6-16 years to develop active healthy lives in a safe environment through experiencing a wide range of sporting and cultural activities. Community spirit is fostered and encouraged.
We are looking for new and existing community groups across NI to set up and represent their areas and be apart of the National Community Games. Setting up a Community Games Area is very rewarding, creating opportunities for children living in the local community to participate in variety of sporting and cultural activities.
There are over 50 different activities from sports specific to art and cultural to choose from with an opportunity to compete at a Provincial and National level.
Many Sporting and Cultural heroes have at one stage or another taken part in the Community Games such as Tommy Bowe (Ulster & Ireland Rugby), Brian O’Driscoll (Leinster & Ireland Rugby) Colin Farrell (Actor) and Niall Horan (One Direction)
A Development Officer will be on hand to help with setting up your area and help with practical things like sourcing funding.
If this sounds like something you would like to be involved with please contact the NI Development Officer Dawn Millar for more information or for details on how to set up your own community games area. Email: [email protected] or Tel: 07710482045. Further information can also be found on our website: www.communitygames.ie
