TYA NI is part of a voluntary association TYA UK which in turn is part of the international association of theatre for young audiences – ASSITEJ. In Northern Ireland, it is led by the 3 lead TYA providers, Replay, Cahoots NI and Young at Art, and is made up of a combined membership of companies and individual practitioners. TYA NI are calling for artists to submit work to be included in a curated showcase programme combining performances by NI companies & practitioners, some input by Irish companies, demonstrations of works in progress by new and emerging practitioners and a series of talks, networking opportunities and workshops held in March 2013, coinciding with the 15th Belfast Children’s Festival.
The showcase will consist of both to the public and to an invited audience of industry delegates from Northern Ireland, Ireland and further afield.Criteria are:
- submissions must come from artists or companies based in or from Northern Ireland
- work must be available across the period 11 - 14 March 2013
- work and work in progress must aim to a professional standard of presentation (Theatre, dance or opera for young audiences rather than voluntary, semi-professional or youth theatre)
- Commissioning costs will not be covered. A small amount of support is available to cover costs through box office. All ticketing and promotional costs will be covered.
