Centre for Health and Well Being

Centre for Health and Well Being (CHWB) wishes to appoint a suitably qualified company to conduct an audit of its annual accounts for 2014-2015. CHWB is a Registered Charity and a Company Limited By Guarantee.

  • The Centre for Health and Well Being has delivered complimentary therapies[1] throughout West Belfast for 17 years.  We have 2 staff, 3 volunteers and 6 board members as well as 2 volunteer counsellors and 10 self employed therapists[2].  Our volunteers are local people who’ve benefitted from the services provided and want to give something back.  Two of our therapists are also past clients who have completed accredited training with us and enhanced their learning with a minimum of 50 CPD hours per annum over the last 7 years.  Now self employed, they are contributing to the economy.
  • We offer each client 6 one hour long therapies, one per week at the same time each week for 6 weeks, after which time they will have devised a personal development log with their therapist and outcomes should reflect improved mental and physical health.  In 2008 we added to this an education programme to assist clients moving on from their treatments; in 2010, we secured two health trust contracts to deliver services to carers and those who’ve suffered brain injuries;  in 2011, we evolved further to provide a counselling programme led by volunteer graduates.  This coincided with our award of Bronze level accreditation in Investors in People.
  • Centre for Health and Well Being (CHWB) wishes to appoint a suitably qualified company to conduct an audit of its annual accounts for 2014-2015.  CHWB is a Registered Charity and a Company Limited By Guarantee.  The audit must meet the requirements of relevant charity and company legislation.
  • CHWB engages Clarke and Company Bookkeeping and Accountancy Services to prepare monthly accounts and manage the payroll.  The company also advises the charity on its financial procedures and supports staff and the Board to ensure good financial governance.  Clarke and Company uses QuickBooks Accounts Software.
  • The successful company will be expected to liaise with Clarke and Company and with the Manager and Treasurer of CHWB in preparing the audit.
  • Subject to satisfactory performance, the company may be reappointed at CHWB's Annual General Meeting for three years.
