Is your organisation Welfare Reform ready?
As you may know the Department for Communities (DfC) is rolling out measures to ensure the advice sector is prepared to assist the general public through the implementation of the ongoing changes to the welfare system.
This includes providing funding to Councils to resource training for Council-funded advice providers and provision of FREE Welfare Reform Awareness Sessions to non-council funded advisers and others working with people impacted by Welfare Reform.
The training will cover current Welfare Reforms including the following aspects:
- Introduction of Personal Independence Payment
- Employment and Support Allowance changes
- Discretionary Support
- Housing Benefit Changes
- Benefit Sanctions
- Mitigations Scheme
Advice NI has worked hard to developed a programme of training options to meet these needs with provision of the FREE Awareness Session (for eligible groups) and training options starting at just £15.
