The Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) is celebrating its 40th birthday and to mark the occasion the charity held a special ‘Birthday Card Competition’ in primary schools across Northern Ireland.
UCF’s ‘Birthday Card Competition’ was inundated with a huge range of artistic entries, raising thousands to help fund UCF’s Family Support Service which helps children, young people and their families when a close family member has been diagnosed with cancer.
UCF’s free Family Support Service offers specialist emotional support to the entire family. This can involve individual or group support where families can meet others who are in a similar situation; home or hospital visits; as well as telephone and email support. To book an appointment or for further information please call Rachel Smith on 028 9066 3281, email rachelsmith@ulstercancer.org or click on www.ulstercancer.org
The winning design from each category has been reproduced as a special birthday party invitation and thank you card for donations in lieu of gifts which UCF supporters can order (free of charge) to send out to family and friends. To order or for further information please call Sarah at UCF on 028 9068 0765 or email sarahatcheson@ulstercancer.org
As part of UCF’s ongoing 40th birthday celebrations you can support us through our special digital Mosaic Appeal – a quick and easy new way to support UCF online. Simply click on www.ulstercancerfoundation.mosaicappeal.com Follow the easy step-by-step guide to donate and reveal a mosaic tile on our special anniversary image. Each tile can be purchased for a minimum donation of £5 and you can dedicate the tile in memory or in support of a loved one who has been diagnosed with the disease. Businesses can also lend their support by purchasing a corporate tile for £100 each.
UCF’s work is only possible due to the generosity of local people who raise almost all the £4m needed annually to provide UCF’s care and support services, free of charge, to cancer patients, carers and their family in Northern Ireland. All the money raised on UCF’s behalf is spent in Northern Ireland, helping to support local people with cancer.
