What Summer? Camp.

Beyond Skin announce TBUC Summer Camp Programme
"The World, Our World, Real World"
Together Building United Communities

"The World, Our World, Real World"

Beyond Skin are pleased to be awarded funding from OFMDFM through Education Authority NI towards delivering a 'summer camp' programme with John Paul Youth Club Ardoyne & Lagan Village Youth.

The project is part of of the Together Building United Communities initiative

As some may know OFMDFM funding announcments were slightly delayed - but no matter as we have typically again set our sights high on delivering a very unique programme, and that fact the programme will run in the Autumn (due to funding announcments) adds to the creative eccentricity of the project.

The project will centre around the themes of identity, human rights, citizenship, equality and shared space using artistic methods to explore these themes based on the idea framework of the project.

1.         The World: Pre camp - exploring issues children face in the current environment within their community and wider Northern Ireland. This will include drawing out ideas from the children through creative processes on how they would change things.

2.         Our World:  Residential Camp 9-11th Oct  (– The children together will create their perfect world. Developing together new laws, inventing their own musical instruments, dances and traditions. Inventing their own language and cultural celebrations.

3.         Real World: Post camp – as the children return to the real world what aspects of the residential ‘Our World’ camp can they implement in their community to make it a better place for all?

The project will be facilitated by professional artists from Chile, Jamaica & Kurdistan.

So watch this place - as the project will show how children have inborn creative capacity for unbounded achievement.
