A Volunteer Recognition and Celebration Reception was held in Belfast City Hall to acknowledge volunteers involved in the British Transplant Games which took place during  the Summer. Over 80 inspirational volunteers, recruited and managed by Volunteer Now, supported the Westfield Health British Transplant Games held in Belfast in August.   The volunteers were involved in various roles over the 5 days including the opening ceremony, registration of participants and stewarding.  Belfast Lord Mayor Cllr Niall O Donnghaile  highlighted the fact that, without volunteers, many sporting events could not happen and thanked them for their committment to the event.  Orla Smyth, BTG Athlete and gold medal winner joined the Lord Mayor in presenting recognition certificates to the group.
