Ulster Supported Employment Ltd (USEL); the largest supporter of people with disabilities and health related conditions into open employment in Northern Ireland, has launched the Restart Transfer of Innovation Project (“Restart 3”) Research Report.

Funded by Erasmus+, a European funded programme, the “Restart 3” Project is delivered in partnership with USEL, Possibilities NI, 36.6CC in Poland, ACE in Spain, and Associazionenet in Italy. The aim is to boost skills and employability through education, training and youth work. USEL will work together with the different countries to develop, share and transfer best practice and innovative approaches in the field of education, training and youth.

As part of the project USEL carried out research into the targeted groups within each country; people with disabilities in Northern Ireland, Migrants in Poland, Lone Parents in Spain and Unemployed Youth in Italy. The findings of this report were presented at today’s event at USEL’s head office which was attended by various representatives from the disability and public sector.

Arthur Savage, USEL’s Employment Services Business and Development Manager commented “The findings of the report strongly indicate that support is vital to enable people within these groups to move towards open employment.  We are looking forward to delivering the next stage of the project which combines return to work preparation training with practical work experience, one to one coaching and confidence building to allow participants to access employment opportunities.”
