Ark Housing’s commitment to its organisational training and development has resulted in the association achieving accreditation as an approved centre by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) to deliver training.

This latest initiative by the award-winning housing association is a result of Ark Housing’s overall approach to learning and development. The Association now offers approved training in Data Protection: The Management of Information; Corporate Responsibility; Management of Health and Safety; Management of Anti-Social Behaviour; The Housing Orders including the Tenancy Agreement and Management of Repairs for Non Technical Staff.
Commenting on the development, Ark Housing’s Business Services Manager, Vincent Lavery said: “We continue to substantially invest in our staff’s development and having received 10 out of 10 in our re-accreditation for Investor in People (IIP) we have committed to achieving IIP’s Beyond the Standard.
“As far as practical our staff no longer attend courses unless there is a recognised qualification. Extending our commitment to accredited training meant becoming an approved training centre with ILM was a natural route to take. We are delighted with this development and look forward to offering our training courses to our colleagues in other housing associations and other organisations across Northern Ireland.”
Mike Crothers, National Business Manager (Ireland) for ILM stated, “We worked closely with Ark Housing during the development of their approved training programme. The commitment and professionalism demonstrated was impressive. ILM is pleased to be associated with Ark Housing and looks forward to seeing this aspect of their service continue to develop and grow”.
Although developed initially with the housing association movement in mind Ark Housing’s courses in Data Protection; Corporate Responsibility; Management of Health and Safety and the Management of Anti-Social Behaviour are suitable in a broader context.
