Who should I contact about the survey?

The survey is being run by Imtac. We are a Committee whose members include disabled and older people.  We advise Government on transport issues. Michael Lorimer will be the main contact for the survey. You can contact Michael to ask for the survey to be sent to you in your preferred format or about any other aspect of the survey. What is the survey about?

The survey is about your thoughts on public transport. Public transport is bus, coach and train services in Northern Ireland run mostly by Translink. The survey is not about other transport such as taxis, rural community transport or Disability Action Transport services.

Why are we doing the survey?

Imtac knows that transport is a big issue for disabled and older people. The aim of the survey is to find out if public transport has got better in the past 10 years.  This information will be used to identify more changes which will improve public transport in the future.

Who should take part in the survey?

Any older or disabled person can take part in the survey whether you use public transport or not. If you use public transport the survey is an opportunity to tell us about what is good about it and what is not. If you don’t use public transport the survey is an opportunity to tell us why not.

How do I take part in the survey?

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to take part in the survey. You can complete the survey in the following ways:

• Complete our on-line survey accessed via the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Imtacsurvey

• Ask us to post  you a hard copy of the survey with a Freepost return envelope

• Print the survey from our website via the following link http://www.imtac.org.uk/publications/Imtac%20Attitudes%20Survey%2014pt.pdf and return using the Freepost address provided in the survey (no stamp required)

• Arrange with us to complete the survey over the telephone – Remember  if there is no one in the office please leave a message and we will return the call as soon as possible

• The survey is available in 14pt print as standard. It is also available in larger print if you require this.  We can also make the survey available as a word attachment without text boxes which may be of help to people who use screen reading software.

• If you are a group or organisation we are happy to arrange to meet with a group of your members to complete the survey if this is helpful.

• If you have other requirements or suggestions about how we can help you to complete the survey please contact us to discuss.

What happens after I complete the survey?

Your information will be used by the Department for Regional Development  to compile a report about key issues for older and disabled people and public transport in Northern Ireland. This report will be used to decide what improvements are needed to services in the future. Any information you give us will be treated as strictly confidential and we will destroy the information once the report is complete.
