Active 4 Health received a donation towards their work from ASDA Enniskillen Community Life Champion Simon Herron.

A social enterprise initiative is hoping to target young people in the Newtownbutler area to enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

Active 4 Health is a Community Interest Company which aims to provide sports coaching and physical education classes to young and vulnerable children within the local community.

Michael McDonald, of Active 4 Health has recently taken an FAI Kick Start Soccer Coaching Course to provide training that is of the very highest standard of the young people taking part.

“Active 4 Health began in June last year to provide healthy lifestyle and fitness programmes for primary school aged children in the local area. The aim is to improve communication, teamwork and life skills of those children taking part, so they can have a positive impact on the community.

“Last year we worked with Schools across County Monaghan and ran a free taster session for children in Newtownbutler County Fermanagh before Christmas. The support received from The ASDA Community Life fund will help us deliver more sessions in the weeks and months ahead.
