- Have you heard about NICVA's new social economy project - Sector Matters?
Sector Matters Ltd will help organisations outsource their human resources and finance activities at a competitive rate and allow them to concentrate on their primary work. Although Sector Matters will operate from NICVA's Belfast offices, it is a fully autonomous business providing much needed HR and Finance services to charities, voluntary and community groups, social enterprises as well as small and medium sized private sector businesses across Northern Ireland.
Speaking after the first meeting of the company board on 21 December, Paula Reynolds, Business Development Director, explained:
"So many voluntary and community groups don't have in-house HR and finance expertise and so this essential work can take up a disproportionate amount of time. This prevents them from getting on with their core work. Our aim is to provide an affordable outsourced service so that the groups and companies in the sector can be more efficient while still making sure they are meeting their statutory requirements and meeting the needs of their users."
Sector Matters can assist with financial activities like book-keeping and annual returns as well as human resources matters such as recruitment, policy and procedure handbook reviews, employee reviews and disciplinary issues.
