Rockmount Day Nursery and Out of School Club, Ballynahinch is one of two groups from Northern Ireland who were presented with the All Ireland Centre of Excellence Award at a gala dinner in Dublin on Saturday 6th February.
The Awards programme is jointly delivered by Early Years - the organisation for young children and the National Children's Nurseries Association, this is the fourth year the Awards have been made. Developed in line with international research on best practice in early years care and education the accreditation recognises the high standard of quality provision for each individual child in their care.
Andrea Stewart owner of the Rockmount Day nursery commented "We are extremely proud to have received the award. Our aim is to offer a safe, warm and caring environment for children in which they can learn through play. Receiving this accreditation highlights the attention to detail that we as owners and our entire staff team put into the daily care and education of the children in care. We hope it reaffirms the absolute confidence our parents have that their children are happy and developing a solid framework in preparation for their school education and life."
Siobhan Fitzpatrick, Early Years Chief Executive said, "We congratulate Rockmount on achieving this award for the first time. For parents seeking good quality day care, this Award is a mark of the highest standards. Quality early years experiences are vital to the health and development of young children. We believe that receiving the Award is not the final step in the process, but the first step! We know that all groups will continue to work hard to maintain the high standards they have achieved."
