Philippines Typhoon: Your help is urgently needed

Last week's typhoon in the Philippines has caused widespread devastation. Up to 10 million people have been affected. Hundreds of thousands of families are vulnerable with no safe and secure home.

Habitat has been working on the ground in the Philippines for the past 25 years. Our team is mounting an aggressive response. We are planning to distribute 50,000 hygiene kits and 30,000 shelter repair kits to families to assist with their immediate needs; a roof over their heads and protection from disease.

We will also help families rebuild their lives over the long term. We will build 10,000 core houses during reconstruction efforts.

Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Habitat responds when disaster strikes. We helped rebuild after the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and 2010 Haitian earthquake. In fact, in the last 16 months, Habitat has served more than 42,000 families through disaster response projects in the Philippines alone.

With your help, we are determined to reach as many families as possible whose lives have been shattered by Typhoon Haiyan. We will work in partnership with local people and other humanitarian organisations to ensure the effectiveness of the response is multiplied.

We urgently need your help. The effectiveness of Habitat's response depends simply on the support available. Please give an urgent gift online which will help us rebuild hope and homes in the Philippines.
