NICE - Solar Energy for Local Communities. Investment opportunity for All

Northern Ireland Community Energy (NICE) is a community co-operative and at the begining of March launched a community share offer which has raised £100,000 so far.

The target is to raise £150, 000 and use the capital to install solar panels on 9 local community buildings Northern Ireland and help reduce their energy costs. The share offer is still open and sites are currently explored across the whole region.

NICE is holding a community event in Derry/Londonderry on Friday, the 24th April from 11.30 to showcase one of the sites, the local YMCA, for which solar panels installations have been agreed and gather more interest from organisations and individuals who may want to consider an investment in this very worthy initiative. The venue is the YMCA, 51 Glenshane Road, Derry/Londonderry, BT47 3SF.
