As Easter approaches, farming charity Rural Support, is calling on Northern Ireland children to take part in an “Easter on the Farm” colouring competition to help raise awareness of its important service during the Easter and Spring period.

The charity, alongside its CSR partner, Simple Power, is hosting the competition and is appealing to rural families with young children to participate for the chance to win a packed chocolate hamper  that is sure to delight all members of the family.

Rural Support Director, Jude McCann commented: “By asking young competitors to illustrate their view of a farm during the Easter period, the competition aims to highlight the work of the farming community during what is often one of the busiest times of the year.”

“2014 is the International Year of Family Farming and we hope the competition also encourages children to think about the role and importance of the family in farming today.  We believe it’s important to engage with all members of rural families to let them know we are here to help if required.”

To be in with the chance to win a special Easter Hamper, go to www.ruralsupport.org.uk, download the activity sheet from the news section, design your ‘Easter on the Farm’ egg and send it to Rural Support, The Lodge, Loughry College, Cookstown, BT80 9AA by 24th April 2014.
