Queen's Students' Union wants students to volunteer with your organisation! To facilitate this, we are hosting a Volunteer Fair on Thursday 30th September, the day after the infamous Freshers' Fair which attracts over 8,000 students each year.

Want student volunteers?

Queen’s Students’ Union is looking for
organisations that have voluntary opportunities for students, to take part in
its Volunteering Fair on Thursday 30th September 2010. Located in the
Students’ Union building, the purpose of the fair to provide a mechanism to
link students and organisations in need of volunteers.  Volunteering
provides students with an opportunity to develop new skills and gain relevant
experience, and the organisations can benefit through the students dedicated
time, effort and enthusiasm into their organisation. The fair will take place
the day after the Fresher’s Fair which attracts over 8,000 students every year.

This fair is open to all organisations that have voluntary
opportunities, which can range from marketing to fundraising, web design to
journalism.  A limited number of stalls are available to organisations for
£50, which will cover administration costs and help implement the student volunteering
strategy which will encourage more students to become involved with voluntary
opportunities and engage with local organisations. 

 

Interested organisations must fill in the
attached Volunteering Opportunities Form, which contains the organisation
details, summary of opportunities available and also the individual opportunity
form (full description of each opportunity available). In addition to this,
organisations must fill in the stall booking form.

 

By completing both forms, organisations
will enter a database that the Students’ Union will use to advertise further
other voluntary opportunities to students.

 

The closing date for applications
is 12pm on Friday 3rd September 2010. Forms can be returned by email
to volunteer@qub.ac.uk or
