WAVE Trauma Centre is delighted to link up with our friends at Gaslight Productions to offer epilogues a four-day, eight-module course that explores the underlying causes of the conflict in and about Northern Ireland.
Facilitated by Cassie Riggs the course uses the epilogues DVD and website to explore six themes —
Violence, Loss, Revenge, Forgiveness, Justice, and Human Rights.
Course dates and Content:
Tuesday 2 October: Introduction and Violence module
Tuesday 9 October: Loss and Revenge
Tuesday 16 October: Forgiveness and Justice
Tuesday 23 October: Human Rights and Conclusion
All sessions take place at WAVE Trauma Centre, 5 Chichester Park South, Belfast
epilogues is accredited by the Open College Network and is free. Each daily session will commence at 9.30am and conclude at 4.30pm. A light lunch will be provided on each course day.

Transition from Conflict

Acknowledgment and dealing with the past are essential if a society is to move from violent conflict to a future that is secure and peaceful for all. WAVE’s Transition from Conflict course provides participants an opportunity to learn more about reconciliation, justice and dealing with the past. It is OCN accredited at Level 2 and will take place over 6 weeks commencing
Tuesday 9 October. From 6pm to 9pm. Cost: Free

Facing History and Ourselves

WAVE continues its partnership with Facing History and Ourselves as we offer a six-week OCN accredited course that explores how we learn from history. Facing History and Ourselves has worked in 35 countries engaging students of diverse backgrounds in a study of racism, prejudice and anti-Semitism. Using material taken from the Holocaust and the genocide in Rwanda, as well as our own learning from Northern Ireland, course participants explore how we can learn from our collective past. OCN Accredited at Level 3.
Commencing Friday 14 September from 10am to 1pm.
