The Coors Light Open House Festival; 23rd - 27th September is THE annual festival of trad Irish,  americana, new folk, arts and culture in Belfast - including a 3-day Chillifest at Custom House Square. Check us out at coorsopenhousefestival.com or myspace.com/openhousefestival  

And you can join the festival team as a volunteer. Would you like some inside track on what goes on behind the scenes of a festival, or want to hone up skills you can offer us to help the whole thing run smoothly. Perhaps you have a CV that would benefit from a bit of experience with us, or maybe you simply want to be at some of the best gigs that are going to hit this island this year - from Alabama 3 to Foy Vance - Steve Earle to Liam O Maonlai. You can tick all of the above but at the end of the day if you join our team, you will spend time with a great bunch of people, work hard and have the best craic.

There are a whole load of ways you can get involved. Over the summer we are building up a good Street Team of volunteers to hand out flyers around gigs and events; and help get those programmes out there! During the festival we are looking for Stage Hands, Stewards, people to sell the merchandise and volunteers for front of house.  

Our open evening on Wednesday 12th August from 7pm - 9pm isn't a meeting! There won't be someone standing in front of the room telling you what the score is. There will just be a pile of Open House Festival people there for you to chat with. I suppose the bottom line on this is that the best volunteers you can ever have are ones who are enjoying what they are doing. If we can get the chance to meet people and have a talk, then we have more of a chance to match volunteers with a role that they will enjoy. Sure, just pop in for a nosey ...
