Consumer Council helps Comber businesses reduce water bills

The Consumer Council met recently with the Comber Commerce and Development Group to advise local business owners on how to save money on their water bills. The team identified over £2,000 in potential savings for those who attended.

Speaking about the event, Andrew Culbert, Water Policy Officer at The Consumer Council, said: “We want to make businesses aware of the significant reductions they can make to their water bills. Through our engagement with event participants we were able to identify over £2,000 worth of savings. One Comber hospitality provider alone could make savings of approximately £1000 a year, just by making simple water efficiency changes in their bathroom facilities.

“We can assist local businesses with free billing queries, provide information on water efficiency, and check they are receiving the correct allowances. Any business wanting to find out more should call us or visit our website and we will be happy to help.”

The Consumer Council has a number of resources available to help businesses reduce their water bill, including our guides ‘Every Drop Counts,’ available to download at www.consumercouncil.org.uk or by calling 0800 121 6022 to request a copy.  Alternatively, if you would like to speak with a member of the team, or organise a review of your business’ water bills call 0800 121 6022 or email [email protected]
